England centre Ben Te'o is set to miss the start of the Six Nations in February due to an ongoing ankle injury.

Te'o has not played since sustaining the injury while on club duty with Worcester Warriors in the Challenge Cup on October 14.

Worcester director of rugby Gary Gold confirmed that the 30-year-old is still six weeks away from recovery at a press conference on Tuesday.

Defending Six Nations champions England begin their campaign away against Italy on February 4.

England head coach Eddie Jones could be without a number of regular players for the start of the tournament - with Elliot Daly, Nathan Hughes and Ellis Genge all at risk of missing the early rounds of the campaign.

Daly may need to undergo ankle surgery after suffering an injury in Wasps' win over La Rochelle on Sunday, while Hughes (knee) and Genge (shoulder) are also doubtful.
