England's Jamie George learnt value of patience at Saracens

Saracens' Jamie George discusses what made him the player he is today

Jamie George said he learnt the value of patience whilst playing under Schalk Brits and John Smit at Saracens.

The England and Lions hooker spoke to Sky Sports News and revealed he would not be the player he is today if he had not learnt to be patient whilst at Saracens.

He said: "I think in those [difficult] times, it's about getting better rather than getting frustrated because if I got frustrated, I certainly wouldn't be the player I am today."

George also contributes the most recent Lions tour to his form yet despite starting all three Test matches in New Zealand, the 26-year-old is still unsure whether he will wear the number two shirt ahead of England captain Dylan Hartley.

"I gained valuable experience out in New Zealand and I actually started a Test match, which was obviously great for me," said George.

"I thought I was playing pretty good rugby and I've got to make sure I keep my head down and keep performing and setting standards in training.
