Owen Farrell, Courtney Lawes and Joe Launchbury nominated for England player of the year

England's player of the year award will be fought out by Owen Farrell, Courtney Lawes and Joe Launchbury.

Farrell, Lawes and Launchbury were all key figures in England's record-equalling 18-match winning streak which came to an end against Ireland last month.

The winner will be announced at the the RPA Players' Awards ceremony, which takes place on May 10 at Battersea Evolution in London.

Saracens fly-half Farrell said: "To be nominated by the guys you wear the England shirt with is a massive honour and I'm extremely thankful for their support.

"Playing rugby you want to gain the respect of your teammates and it's a privilege to represent them with this nomination."

Northampton lock Lawes added: "It's a huge honour to be nominated by my England team-mates.

And Wasps second-row forward Launchbury said: "It's a special feeling to be nominated by your peers and I have really enjoyed being part of the team this year.
