The Rugby Football Union has been shortlisted for four awards at the prestigious Women's Sports Trust ceremony in May.

Less than a week after England Women landed their first Six Nations Grand Slam in five years, the RFU has been nominated for national governing body of the year.

Other nominations for the triple Six Nations champions include the Red Roses campaign - the identity under which England Women play - which is shortlisted for media initiative of the year.

The 'Meet Your Inner Warrior' campaign, which hopes to encourage more women and girls to take up contact rugby, is up for best imagery.

Lastly, the RFU director of digital, marketing and communications Joanna Manning-Cooper has been nominated as an ambassador of women's sport.

Ian Ritchie, chief-executive of the RFU said: "We are immensely proud of the Red Roses' achievement in Dublin last weekend. We look forward to seeing the squad continue to grow ahead of the Women's Rugby World Cup in Ireland in August.

"Everything we do from the elite end down is to help inspire more people to get involved whether playing or supporting the women's game."
