Anthony Watson is a doubt for England's RBS Six Nations opener against France a week on Saturday.
The Bath winger suffered a hamstring strain during England's training camp in Portugal and will undergo scans on Saturday in order to determine the severity of the injury.
The 22-year-old had to miss the Autumn Internationals due to a broken jaw but was seen as a possible starter at Twickenham next weekend.
A Rugby Football Union statement on Friday read: "Anthony Watson, Bath Rugby, will go for a scan tomorrow, Saturday January 28, following a hamstring strain sustained in training at England's training camp in Vilamoura, Portugal."
If Watson misses out, Gloucester's Jonny May could be poised to retain his starting berth on the wing, while Jack Nowell and Marland Yarde may compete for the starting role on the opposite flank.
