Joe Launchbury has been banned for two weeks for kicking an opponent during Saturday's win against Fiji and will miss England's remaining autumn Tests.
Launchbury attended a disciplinary hearing on Monday and admitted his offence, in the second minute of a 58-15 win at Twickenham, warranted a red card.
The committee accepted the incident was reckless rather than intentional and imposed the minimum four-week ban, reduced to two weeks because of his good record and guilty plea.
That timescale nonetheless deprives Eddie Jones of his first-choice lock for the upcoming games against Argentina and Australia as England aim to complete a clean sweep of autumn wins.
Launchbury, who scored two tries at the weekend, and Courtney Lawes started in the second row against Fiji and in this month's 37-21 defeat of South Africa.
