Danny Care will start at scrum-half for England in their Six Nations opener with Scotland at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Care has started just one international in the last 18 months but new head coach Eddie Jones has given him the nod ahead of Ben Youngs, who is on the bench.

Care's Harlequins team-mate Joe Marler is at loosehead ahead of Mako Vunipola, and former captain Chris Robshaw switches flanks to the blindside, with Wasps back-row James Haskell at openside.

Jones has named three vice-captains to support skipper Dylan Hartley - Owen Farrell, No 8 Billy Vunipola and Mike Brown.

Farrell, as expected, starts at inside centre, outside No 10 George Ford with Jonathan Joseph at 13. Brown keeps his place at full-back, with Exeter's Jack Nowell and Bath's Anthony Watson on the wings.

Northampton lock Courtney Lawes tweaked his hamstring in training on Monday but has proved his fitness and he wins a place on the bench along with three uncapped players.

Harlequins back-row Jack Clifford, Northampton prop Paul Hill and Bath's utility back Ollie Devoto will all be hoping for a chance to win their first cap.

Six Nations: Ones to watch

Captains name their player to watch in this year's championship

"The boys have worked hard since coming into camp to understand how I want the team to play going forward. We have prepared well and I am pleased with the progress the group has made in the short time we've had together.

"We are indebted to the work Stuart Lancaster has done over last four years. I have inherited a talented and highly motivated group of players.
