We take a look at the seven uncapped players named in England head coach Eddie Jones' elite player squad.
Josh Beaumont
Age: 22
Club: Sale Sharks
Position: Back-row
The son of former England captain and current RFU chairman Bill, Beaumont has ousted Ben Morgan after some consistently high performances for Sale.
The No 8 started for England against the Barbarians last summer and scored a try. He is strong in the lineout, is one of Sale's primary ball carriers and regularly tops the tackle charts.
"I really like Beaumont," says Worcester director of rugby Dean Ryan. "He is an old school No 8; I mean that in the sense he went the university route of arriving at the professional game. He plays with the freedom that you don't have when you come through an academy system; you end up being much more programmed. He's a big, dynamic man who has got the freedom to roam around for Sale.
"England have had a lot of workmanlike back-five players. Beaumont is slightly different and will have licence to roam around in those final 20 minutes. I think Billy Vunipola will get the start but I expect to see Beaumont across the Six Nations."
Jack Clifford
Age: 22
Club: Harlequins
Position: Back-row
Clifford has been excellent for Quins this season, playing in all three back-row positions, scoring six tries in 12 appearances.
He skippered England U20s to a Six Nations and Junior World Cup double in 2013 and will vie with Matt Kvesic for the No 7 shirt. Clifford is a menace at the breakdown, has electric pace and is a destructive ball-carrier.
Born in Australia, Clifford joined the Quins academy aged 13 and has benefited from working alongside Chris Robshaw and Nick Easter.
"Jack has played a lot of rugby for us and I think he is going to be an outstanding leader and captain for many years," said Harlequins boss Conor O'Shea.
Elliot Daly
Age: 23
Club: Wasps
Position: Centre
Daly is a devastating runner with ball in hand and brings others into the game with his awareness and distribution skills. He is also a strong defender and boasts a powerful left boot that punishes teams who infringe around halfway.
"Daly is putting Jonathan Joseph under huge pressure," says Ryan. "He is in great form with Wasps in Europe and has got outstanding pace.
"However, when you play someone like Owen Farrell at 12, you need an out-and-out line-breaker alongside him, and that's Joseph."
Ollie Devoto
Age: 22
Club: Bath
Position: Centre
A product of the Bath academy, Devoto represented England at U20 and Saxons level. However, the versatile playmaker has fallen behind Kyle Eastmond and Jonathan Joseph in the Bath midfield pecking order and has been linked with a move away from the Rec.
Devoto is a powerful tackler and makes strong carries across the gain line, while keeping defences on their toes with his offloading skills. His kicking game is also a valuable asset.
Paul Hill
Age: 20
Club: Northampton Saints
Position: Tighthead prop
A Junior World Championship winner with England in 2014, Hill is the most-capped prop at U20 level and is a product of the Yorkshire Carnegie academy system. He broke into the Saints first team this season, primarily as a replacement, but has started their last three games following an injury to Kieran Brookes.
An excellent scrummager, Hill is also dynamic in the loose. He produced a superb burst of pace to beat Graham Kitchener and touch down during Northampton's narrow loss to Leicester, only for the try to be ruled out for a high tackle by Luther Burrell. He also made 12 tackles during the Welford Road contest, playing the full 80 minutes for the second consecutive game.
Sam Hill
Age: 22
Club: Exeter Chiefs
Position: Centre
Hill played alongside Jack Clifford as England U20s won the Six Nations and Junior World Cup in 2013, and represented the England Saxons the following year.
The inside centre's physicality asks questions of opposition defences and he combines that with excellent footwork and offloading skills.
Maro Itoje
Age: 21
Club: Saracens
Position: Lock/back-row
Itoje skippered England captained to the Junior World Championship in New Zealand in 2014 and has been in fantastic form for Saracens.
Comfortable at lock and blindside flanker, Itoje became a first-team regular with Sarries last season as they won the Aviva Premiership. He was named in England's 50-man World Cup squad but failed to make the cut.
"Itoje is a player of the future and injuries will allow him into the match-day 23, potentially off the bench against Scotland," says Ryan. "He's got such a big career ahead of him and it's careful how we manage those early days.
"There is a lot of clamour for him to be starting but Eddie Jones has been very public of the balance between the future and winning games. We've got to make sure we don't have a lot of Test debutants all arriving at the same time."
