Ireland's CJ Stander will miss the second Test against South Africa after receiving a one-week ban for Saturday's red card.
The Munster captain was sent off for catching Pat Lambie in the head as he followed through on an attempted charge-down.
Ireland went on to win the game 26-20, and their coach Joe Schmidt afterwards called Stander's dismissal "very harsh".
But after a two-day hearing disciplinary officer Terry Willis ruled the offence worthy of a suspension, halving the standard two-week punishment on account of Stander's previous good record.
Ireland have 48 hours to appeal, but as it stands the flanker will be forced to sit out this weekend's Johannesburg Test before returning for the third and final game in Port Elizabeth.
South Africa have called up Morne Steyn to replace Lambie, who is ruled out of Saturday's game with concussion.
