Catalans Dragons' French international Tony Gigot has been cleared to make his first Super League appearance of the season after having a two-year ban reduced to three months.
The Perpignan club revealed on the eve of the season that the 26-year-old full-back had been suspended by the French Federation for "inappropriate behaviour" towards an anti-doping officer.
The Dragons say the incident took place during the France national team's training camp at Le Barcares, in the build-up to last October's Test match against England in Avignon.
However, the Super League club stood by their player, insisting he did not fail a drugs test, and he was successful in his appeal which was heard on Tuesday.
The Federation agreed to cut the ban to three months, which Gigot has already served, and suspend the other 21 months.
A statement from the Catalans said: "The club can confirm the reduction of Tony Gigot suspension following his appeal of the FFR XIII anti-doping department decision.
"The ban has been reduced to three months, meaning the Catalans full-back is now available."
Catalans coach Laurent Frayssinous kept a place open in his squad for Friday night's game at Leigh for Gigot, who has continued to train with the club during his ban, and the Rugby Football League has given him the green light to make his return.
Gigot, who had a spell with London Broncos in 2014, played in all but two of the Dragons' 32 league and cup matches in 2016.
He kicked a goal in France's 40-6 defeat to England last October, which was his last match.
The Dragons go to the Leigh Sports Village seeking a first win in six matches.
