Leeds prop Nathaniel Peteru is facing another lengthy spell out of the game as the reigning Betfred Super League champions' injury woes worsen.

Twenty-four hours after Rhinos skipper Kallum Watkins was ruled out for the season with a knee ligament injury, Peteru was told he will miss the next 10 to 12 weeks with a bicep tendon rupture.

The unfortunate former Gold Coast forward missed 12 matches earlier in the season after damaging the bicep in his other arm on his debut at Warrington in the opening game in February.

Another forward Jamie Jones-Buchanan, will be out for six to eight weeks to have a clear-out operation on his knee and Leeds also have doubts over Joel Moon, Carl Ablett, Matt Parcell, Stevie Ward, Brett Delaney and Jack Walker for Saturday's game against Catalans Dragons in Perpignan, live on Sky Sports Arena [red button].

And scrum-half Richie Myler, who joined the club from the Catalans at the end of last season, will need to overcome a head test if he is to face his old club.

The Rhinos have acted to alleviate their injury problems by recalling centre or second rower Jimmy Keinhorst from his loan spell at Widnes and can call on several players currently playing on dual-registration with Featherstone.
