Huddersfield have signed Wakefield back Jordan Tansey on a month's loan.

Tansey, who has not featured for the Wildcats in this season's Super League, can play at either full-back or winger.

And the 29-year-old gives Paul Anderson another option as he prepares to welcome the likes of Eorl Crabtree, Joe Wardle and Kyle Wood back from injury.

"Jordan has a wealth of experience behind him, and is just the sort of cover we need right now," said Anderson, quoted in the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

"We've brought him in here with a view to playing him at full-back, which would then enable us to start to play the rest of the side in their more accustomed position. For instance, Aaron Murphy back to wing or centre.

"And with Eorl, Joe and Kyle all back in good shape, I'm in the very unusual position this year of potentially having a bit of a selection headache."

Managing director Richard Thewlis said: "A new face will give us a great lift after the difficulties we have faced in the first month of the competition and I thank the Wakefield club for allowing Jordan the chance for top-flight game action."
