Rangi Chase continues to have the support of Leigh Centurions, the owner of the Kingstone Press Championship club insists.

The 30-year-old former England stand-off is the subject of much speculation over his future after appearing in just five matches since his move from Salford at the start of the season.

However, Leigh boss Derek Beaumont said the 2013 Man of Steel, who is six months into a two-year contract, remains with the club, although he is currently injured.

"I can categorically state that Rangi Chase has not been sacked," Beaumont said. "He is contracted to the club and continues to be supported by the club.

"I can't control the speculation but people need to let him get on with his life and let the club get on with doing our job.

"Rangi's had a difficult year, he's struggled with injuries and was injured playing against Batley recently.
