Rossa Ryan no longer retained rider for Kia Joorabchian's Amo Racing after James Doyle rides Persian Force in Morny

Football agent Kia Joorabchian has launched an internal investigation after jockey Rossa Ryan revealed his role as retained rider for Joorabchian's Amo Racing team had ended.

The Irishman has been a regular sight in the purple silks of Joorabchian's burgeoning racing operation and picked up many big prizes along the way, including Group Two honours for Go Bears Go in last year's Railway Stakes and most recently aboard Royal Ascot runner-up Persian Force when landing the July Stakes at Newmarket.

However, Ryan's name did not appear on the racecard against Richard Hannon's colt for his Group One assignment in Deauville's Darley Prix Morny, live on Sky Sports Racing on Sunday, with James Doyle initially booked.

Explaining the situation after steering State Occasion to victory at York on Friday, Ryan told ITV Racing: "Sadly me and Amo have departed our own ways. Kia and all the team there have been great to me. I can only be thankful for what they offered me. They took my career to a new level and I wish them the best of luck.

"Hopefully it won't be the last time I ride for them and I can pick up a couple of rides later in the year as spares, but I won't be the first jockey."

After initially staying quiet on the matter, Joorabchian responded to Ryan's claims, explaining on Friday night: "Amo suspended Rossa Ryan for the weekend pending an internal investigation.

"I'm deeply saddened by this as I took Rossa on as an apprentice and I supported him throughout when he had his injury. I have always been very loyal to him and have taken him to the Arc, the Breeders' Cup and always trusted him."

On Saturday, there was another change to the jockey booking for Persian Force's run in France.

Following a fall at Salisbury on Friday evening from Ralph Beckett's Fox Vardy in the last race, it was confirmed James Doyle would miss his intended weekend rides.

Amo then called on the services of Frankie Dettori, who is also heading to Deauville on Sunday, to partner Melbourne Cup winner Verry Elleegant on her European debut in the Prix Jean Romanet, live on Sky Sports Racing.
