Neil Reynolds runs the rule over the major talking points from week three in the NFL as Russell Wilson and Minnesota Vikings come under the spotlight.

The action-packed and story-filled NFL Sundays keep on coming thick and fast. In fact, there is never enough space to talk about everything that happens in an NFL weekend. But I'll give it a go anyway after another very enjoyable eight hours in the Sky Sports studios on Sunday night.

Vikings show resilience

How about those Minnesota Vikings? Look at what they have been through in the opening three weeks of the season. They lost quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, running back Adrian Peterson and offensive tackle Matt Kalil before the third game of the year but remain undefeated at 3-0.

And look at who the Vikings have beaten in the last two weeks, overcoming the Green Bay Packers and Carolina Panthers. It is impressive stuff and shows the resilience of a team being so well led by head coach Mike Zimmer.

Minnesota leaned on their defence to the tune of two touchdowns in Week 1 and on Sunday night that unit - which is one of the best in the NFL - was at it again, recording eight sacks of Cam Newton and picking him off three times. I didn't see that result coming but only a fool will write off the Vikings in future weeks.

All's well that ends well

We take a look at who won the battle between rivals Odell Beckham Jr and Josh Norman during Washington Redskins' 29-27 win over New York Giants

It was great to see Josh Norman and Odell Beckham Jr hug it out like a couple of worn out boxers at the end of Washington's 29-27 win over the New York Giants on Sunday. But it did make me laugh that Norman was accompanied at midfield by defensive lineman Chris Baker.

If my fiercest rival was stood next to a 325-pound man mountain, I would give him a hug, too! So we have to credit OBJ with being both sporting and smart in defeat!

Jags continue to disappoint

Highlights of the Baltimore Ravens @ Jacksonville Jaguars in week three of the NFL

I have been watching close-hand how the Jacksonville Jaguars have added talent to their roster in recent years. But what they haven't added is a cutting edge and an ability to close out the tight games with a victory.

And that's why I was so disappointed to see this team - which is filled with a lot of good players and even better people - fall to 0-3 with a frustrating 19-17 home loss to Baltimore.

There is a fine line between winning and losing in the NFL and the Jags could not deliver enough close wins in 2015. And it has been the same in 2016. The good teams find a way to win those games and securing those victories can mean the difference between a playoff berth and early draft pick.

This game was summed up with around two minutes left on the clock. The Jags led 17-16 and lined up for a 52-yard kick which would have left Baltimore needing a touchdown to win. But Jason Myers' attempt was blocked and using a short field, the Ravens moved into position for Justin Tucker to nail the 54-yard effort.

Somehow, some way, the Jags have to find a way to win the close games that have eluded them in Weeks 1 and 3.

Wilson running out of time

Image: Russell Wilson has come in for some rough treatment this season

It looks like Russell Wilson is going to be okay after spraining his knee during Seattle's 37-18 hammering of the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. But how many more hits can Wilson take before he is knocked to the sidelines for an extended period of time?

The kind of hits that Wilson has been taking this year will have a cumulative effect, believe me. And if you don't think that can happen, take a look back at Andrew Luck and see how he missed nine games for the Indianapolis Colts last season.

Wilson sprained his ankle in Week 1 and his knee in Week 3. What next behind an offensive line that too often resembles a turnstile?

The Bills deliver for Rex

Image: Head coach Rex Ryan led Buffalo Bills to their first win of the season

There were several teams needing to find their first win of the season but none had a greater desire for victory than the Rex Ryan-led Buffalo Bills, who shocked the Arizona Cardinals to the tune of a 33-18 upset.

You can say what you like about Rex Ryan, but he is a tremendous motivator of men and he obviously didn't like the way Buffalo's season was unfolding in messy fashion. It was a solid display against what I thought was a very good team but I have to admit to being very disappointed with the 1-2 Cardinals.

The Jay Train delivers!

Image: Jay Ajayi celebrates his matchwinning touchdown for Miami

What a thrill to see a British running back deliver the winning points in an NFL regular season game on Sunday night as Jay Ajayi's 11-yard run in overtime clinched a 30-24 victory for the Miami Dolphins over the Cleveland Browns.

It was a good moment for Jay and it capped a memorable weekend for the mad-keen Arsenal fan. Jay started the season in head coach Adam Gase's doghouse and was not even taken on the flight to Seattle for Week 1.

Jay reportedly reacted badly to being behind Arian Foster on the depth chart but he now has a serious chance to contribute for the Dolphins during the remainder of the 2016 campaign. Sunday night was a good start and will allow Jay to make headlines for all the right reasons. Good on you, Jay!
