What is Pro Football Focus?

Cris Collinsworth and Neil Hornsby talk you through the key aspects of the PFF grading system

It's become a key reference point for fans and experts with NBC commentator and former player Cris Collinsworth so impressed than in 2014 he bought a majority interest.

PFF is now a data supplier to all 32 NFL teams, 40 NCAA FBS teams as well as national and regional media - and this year Sky Sports join the party.

How to follow the NFL with us this season

How does PFF grading work?

Analysts will join our live coverage throughout the season

Put simply analysts watch, log and grade every single play and every single snap played in the NFL with the statistical results providing an all encompassing view on each position, each team and every single NFL player.

Each player is graded by an analyst on a scale of -2 to +2 according to what he did on the play, taking into account the game situation and how effective the player was on the play - a second analyst will then run their verdict before a third senior analyst has the deciding say.

@PFF will provide a host of in depth analysis throughout the season across Sky Sports platforms including our live coverage on Sunday and throughout our weekly build-up and reaction on sky.mnosports.com/NFL

Join us for coverage of the NFL right through the regular season and play-offs, starting with the season opening Thursday Night Football, right through to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta on February 3.

Every Sunday Sky Sports is your home of the NFL in the UK with three live games and Redzone and you can join in the conversation by making sure you follow us @SkySportsNFL for behind the scenes coverage, live fixture announcements and much more
