Rob Gronkowski has confirmed he will return to the New England Patriots for another season.
Gronkowksi's future in the NFL has been the subject of much speculation, with the Pro Bowl tight end reportedly considering retirement at the age of 28.
But, after missing the team's voluntary off-season workouts, Gronkowski confirmed on Instagram on Tuesday that his time in the league is not over.
He wrote: "I met with coach [Bill Belichick] today and informed him I will be back for the 2018 season with the Pats.
"I have been working out, staying in shape and feel great. Looking forward to another championship run."
Gronkowski has won two Super Bowls as a member of the Patriots, and been named to five Pro Bowl and five All-Pro teams.
All eight of his NFL seasons have been with the Patriots, who drafted him with the 42nd pick of the 2010 draft.
He has so far caught 474 regular season passes for 7,179 yards and 76 touchdowns.
