The Kansas City Chiefs have signed free agent cornerback David Amerson on a one-year $2.25m contract.
Amerson had spent last season with the Oakland Raiders, but managed only six games before ending up on injured reserve with a foot injury.
The Raiders released Amerson earlier this month after three years with the franchise.
His deal with the Chiefs could reach as much as $6m depending on roster and performance bonuses.
Amerson was a second-round draft pick of the Washington Redskins in 2013 and spent his first two years with the team before being claimed off waivers by Oakland.
He is the second cornerback acquired by the Chiefs since their early playoff exit, with the Alex Smith trade last month having brought them Kendall Fuller from the Redskins.
