Jay Ajayi in shock after ending difficult season as a Super Bowl champion

Jay Ajayi gives an emotion reaction after the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New England Patriots to win Super Bowl LII

Philadelphia running back Jay Ajayi cut an emotional figure after he helped the Eagles to their first-ever Super Bowl win on Sunday.

Running back Ajayi ran for 57 yards on nine carries as the Eagles overcame Tom Brady's Patriots 41-33 in Minneapolis and it marked a dream end to a difficult season for the London-born 24-year-old.

Having started the campaign as a Miami Dolphin, he endured a 20-0 shutout at Wembley Stadium before being shipped to Philadelphia for a fourth-round pick at the trade deadline.

Sunday's victory meant Ajayi became the first Briton playing in a skilled position to win a Super Bowl and speaking to Sky Sports' Richard Graves on the touchline after the game, he struggled to keep his emotions into check.

"I'm lost for words. We're the best in the world. Everything I've been through, just for this feeling. There's nothing like this," he said before turning away to compose himself.

"I don't know what to say. It's been a lot, man. There's been a lot this year. This is the glory, it's an amazing feeling."

Assuming he is still with the Eagles, Ajayi will be back in London in October to face the Jacksonville Jaguars.

"I'm not thinking about that right now," he said. "I'm a Super Bowl champion they can never take that away from me. Ever."

When asked how he will be celebrating, he simply said: "With my team-mates, with my family, with the world. I'm speechless."
