Los Angeles Chargers 21-24 Denver Broncos: Hosts cling on to win

Highlights of the week one match-up between the LA Chargers and the Denver Broncos from the NFL

A blocked field goal as time expired saw the Denver Broncos hold on to a 24-21 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night.

Shelby Harris got a hand on Younghoe Koo's 44-yard field-goal attempt with a second left to avoid the Broncos blowing a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter and the game going to overtime.

Moments earlier, Koo was successful with his first go at the kick, but new Denver head coach Vance Joseph had called a timeout to ice the kicker and see it retaken.

Philip Rivers, who had been held to only 115 yards passing through three quarters, then engineered a comeback with touchdown strikes to Keenan Allen and Travis Benjamin barely a minute apart.
