Baltimore Ravens RB Kenneth Dixon ruled out for season

By Sky Sports NFL

Baltimore Ravens running back Kenneth Dixon has undergone season-ending knee surgery to repair a meniscus tear.

The news is a setback for the Ravens as the second-year player was the favourite to lead the team in carries this season.

Dixon was a fourth-round pick out of Louisiana Tech in 2016 and ran for 382 yards and two touchdowns (4.3 yards per carry), while catching 30 passes for 162 yards and one touchdown, during his rookie season.

With Dixon out, Terrance West is likely to be the Ravens' primary option on early downs with free agent signing Danny Woodhead the lead option on passing downs. The team also has running backs Javorius Allen, Lorenzo Taliaferro and undrafted rookie Taquan Mizzell.

Dixon becomes the third player to be ruled out for the season for Baltimore, joining cornerback Tavon Young (knee) and tight end Dennis Pitta (hip).
