Shortly after, they made Arrowhead Stadium their home and proceeded to turn it into one of the most intimidating arenas in NFL - the Chiefs boast the loudest and proudest fan-base in the land: the Red Sea Brigade.

Kansas City Chiefs played in the first ever Super Bowl, which came in the 1966 season before the official merging of the AFL and NFL was completed in 1970. Green Bay Packers came away victorious at 35-10 in Los Angeles that day and they would go on to reach and win the Super Bowl again the following year - the Chiefs would only have to wait two more years to become the second team in history to reach the big game twice. They beat Minnesota Vikings 23-7 in New Orleans to claim what remains their most recent championship victory to date.

Life in the Chiefs Kingdom began when young businessman, Lamar Hunt, purchased the franchise 10 years before the AFL-NFL merger. Interestingly, he is also the man who was responsible for coining the term 'Super Bowl' back in the 1960s, so the Chiefs hold a special place in NFL tradition.
