Russian President Vladimir Putin took Super Bowl ring from Robert Kraft

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft recalls the time he let Russian President Vladimir Putin wear one of his Super Bowl rings

Winning a Super Bowl ring takes years of hard work, dedication and training, which allows a player to perform at the highest level.

Sometimes, though, it may be just about being bold, trying it on and never taking it off again.

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has won four Super Bowls with the franchise, since he bought the organisation in 1994.

However, the third ring, won in 2004 when the Patriots beat the Philadelphia Eagles 24-21, is no longer in Kraft's possession. It now resides in Moscow, Russia, with the President Vladimir Putin.

"I happened to be there on a business trip with my friend", said Kraft. "We had just given out our rings, and he said why don't you show it the President?

"I showed it to him and he put it on, and he sort of enjoyed it, so he kept it on."
