With the latest NFL International Series - the most successful yet - set to conclude on Sunday at Wembley, London has received a further boost in its bid to relocate a franchise to the city permanently.

NFL stars Odell Beckham Jr and Reggie Bush have predicted that a franchise based in the capital is not only welcome, but almost inevitable.

"I can definitely see a London team happening," Beckham said when speaking to Touchdown magazine. The New York Giants' superstar wide receiver played in the first NFL game at Twickenham last weekend, and believes the team would be well supported and competitive, an important factor for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

London franchise "must be competitive"

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is confident of forming a London franchise.

"It could even be one of the better teams in the league because it would be hard to come over here and beat these guys year-in, year-out. I know for a fact that a London team would get a lot of love."

Bush, the Buffalo Bills running back, is even more bullish on the chances of the UK becoming the home of an NFL team.

"London will have an NFL franchise, it's only a matter of time. There is a lot of locker-room talk among NFL players and with friends I have on other teams, and we all know it's only a matter of time before an NFL team is based in London."
