The pressure is ratcheting up in Los Angeles as players look to make the Rams' 53 man roster

As the season approaches, the pressure is beginning to tell at LA Rams' training camp.

With competition for reps fierce before the first set of roster cuts, it is vital that fringe players like wide receiver Austin Hill and linebacker Brandon Chubb take every chance to demonstrate their ability in practice as well as on the field.

This week sees the introduction of defensive assistant and hall of fame linebacker Mike Singletary, brought in to get the best out of Alec Ogletree.

Kaepernick booed in San Diego

49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick continues his protest, remaining seated for the national anthem

"You can be one of the best to ever play the game, you have the ability to be an off-the-chart player, but you're not using it", Singletary says to Ogletree.

"If you want to be a great player, you gotta hustle. But you ain't doing it."

The Rams will be looking for Ogletree to be a defensive leader this year, but he finds out during the second pre-season game against the Kansas City Chiefs that making himself heard is easier said than done.

As the battle for starting quarterback heats up, rookie Jared Goff shows signs of promise but consistency is lacking. Struggling to get out of pressure situations, the first pick in the 2016 Draft is visibly frustrated and Case Keenum, who won the Rams' starting job last off-season, is able to make the most of his opportunities.
