Pittsburgh Steelers 19-13 Kansas City Chiefs: Hosts suffer first defeat of the season

Highlights of the Week Six clash between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Kansas City Chiefs from the NFL

Antonio Brown made an acrobatic one-handed touchdown catch in the fourth quarter as the Pittsburgh Steelers held on to inflict a first defeat of the season on the Kansas City Chiefs, winning 19-13 on Sunday.

Brown finished with 155 yards and that score off eight receptions, while running back Le'Veon Bell also had a monster day, picking up 179 yards and a touchdown off 32 carries.

The Chiefs still had a chance to win after Brown's 51-yard TD made it 19-10, moving quickly downfield and getting a 33-yard field goal from Harrison Butker before their defence forced a quick three-and-out with two minutes left on the clock.

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown makes a one handed catch on a tipped ball for a touchdown to defeat the Kansas City Chiefs.

But, James Harrison sacked Kansas City QB Alex Smith on third-and-10, and then his incomplete pass on fourth down ensured the NFL was left with no unbeaten teams through six games of the season.

Ben Roethlisberger was 17 of 25 for 252 yards for Pittsburgh, bouncing back from his abysmal five-interception performance in defeat to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week.

The Chiefs had rolled into the game averaging 414.2 yards and 32.8 points a game, but the Steelers shut down NFL rushing leader Kareem Hunt, who gained just 21 yards on nine carries.

The Pittsburgh defensive dominance was even more impressive considering the circumstances: they had allowed more than 200 yards rushing twice in the past three weeks.

Still, Smith nearly rallied the Chiefs in the second half, hitting De'Anthony Thomas down the sideline for a 57-yard fourth-quarter touchdown that got Kansas City to within two at 12-10.

But the Steelers (4-2) ultimately secured their fourth win on the season thanks to Brown's brilliant late score, sending the Chiefs (5-1) tumbling to a first defeat.

Buccaneers 33-38 Cardinals

Adrian Peterson did more in his first two quarters with the Cardinals than he could in his first four games combined with the Saints as Arizona (3-3) held out for a win at home over Tampa Bay (2-3).

The Cardinals scored points on each of their first five possessions of the game, and Peterson ended up with 134 yards and two TDs in his first game following a trade from New Orleans.

Buccaneers QB Jameis Winston suffered an injured right shoulder in the second quarter and did not return. Ryan Fitzpatrick replaced Winston and threw three touchdown passes but it still wasn't enough to rally Tampa Bay to a late victory.

Chargers 17-16 Raiders

Nick Novak kicked a game-winning 32-yard field goal as time expired, lifting the Chargers (2-4) over their NFC West rival Raiders (2-4), sending them to a fourth straight defeat.

Oakland quarterback Derek Carr returned to action after a couple of weeks out with small broken bone in his back and threw for 171 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.

Rams 27-17 Jaguars

Some games are won with special teams. The Rams (4-2) victory over the Jaguars (3-3) was a prime example.

The Rams returned the opening kick-off for a 103-yard touchdown, blocked a punt for a six-yard score, kicked a 56-yard field goal and averaged 50.8 yards per punt.
