The Vitality Netball World Cup 2019 organisers have announced that there will be an official Fan Park located in Chavasse Park within Liverpool ONE for the duration of July's tournament.
The competition, which takes place from July 12-21, will see the 16 teams competing for world supremacy and hosts England are well-set to mount a considerable challenge for a maiden world title.
Alongside a whole host of different entertainment elements, the official fan park will show matches on a giant screen and every match of the tournament is live on Sky Sports.
"We are delighted to be able to confirm that Liverpool will host the official Vitality Netball World Cup 2019 Fan Park, " said Vitality Netball World Cup 2019 Event Director, Lindsay Impett.
"With fun activations and lots of exciting announcements to come, the fan park is set to be a brilliant addition to the event."
The plans for the ten days at the park include a series of talks and Q&A sessions with inspirational women and appearances from elite, international netballers. Entry to the park will be free.
"Hosting the Vitality Netball World Cup is a huge coup and tens of thousands of people will be heading to the city to be part of the event," said Liverpool City Council's Deputy Mayor and Cabinet Member responsible for events, Councillor Wendy Simon.
"We want to make the most of this global showcase in our city and celebrate the inspirational women who are set to wow huge crowds in July."
The full programme of events will be announced closer to the opening day of the competition (July 12) and the opening hours will be in line with the tournament's match-schedule.
As the build-up to July continues, South Africa have formalised their preparations with head coach Norma Plummer confirming a pre-tournament camp and Test series.
Plummer, who led the Australian Diamonds to two World Cup gold medals, will be in South Africa for a training camp from April 28 to May 5 and will announce her final squad on Wednesday, June 26.
They SPAR Proteas will then play two Test matches against Wales, who have not qualified for the World Cup, in Cardiff on July 4 and 5.
