Tamsin Greenway believes England's ANZ players give Tracey Neville's squad a good chance in an evenly matched Quad Series, starting on Saturday.
England join Australia, New Zealand and South Africa in the inaugural event with starts on Saturday, and Neville's side are finalising their preparations in New Zealand
The Roses begin against the Silver Ferns, before a game against Australia and then end the series against South Africa, and you will be able to see all the whole tournament live on Sky Sports.
South Africa and Australia meet in the opening game of the tournament and Greenway believes it will be a good gauge for everyone as preparations begin in the cycle for the 2019 World Cup.
"It's going to be a really interesting mix as there will be new players involved for all the teams," Greenway told Sky Sports.
"Australia will always be difficult to beat away from home. They are a class act and have so much depth.
"I think South Africa are dark horses. They will be really interesting because they have had some quality time with their coaches and it's great to see Bongiwe Msomi and Karla Mostert as captain and vice captain of those squads.
"New Zealand look like they are going through a real rebuilding phase, it's their first year of a four-year cycle so that will be interesting for them."
Greenway, who has been appointed as director of netball at net Vitality Superleague franchise Wasps Netball, is also head coach for England U21s, and believes there is a good mix of youth and experience in Neville's squad.
Jo Harten, Jade Clarke and Serena Guthrie play their domestic netball in the ANZ Championship and are all in the England squad while Superleague stars Ama Agbeze, Helen Housby and Kadeen Corbin also join the next generation of Roses players.
"I think England can do well in the competition, they've got enough structure around them," Greenway said.
"It will be great to see how some of the younger players get on. And to see Harten and Guthrie back in action. They are such quality players and we missed having them in our league.
"We haven't seen lots of them play this season as they have been playing out in the ANZ Championship so it is getting them together quickly and being able to have a look at them.
"It's unfortunate that people like Nat Haythornthwaite and Sasha Corbin have had to withdraw but there are some great names in there and the mix in that group is really good.
"Working in the national set-up is like a puzzle, you have to pull players together quickly. But the series is quite evenly matched and it's a real opportunity to get some of the youngsters some exposure as well."
