Jamal Murray scored 21 fourth-quarter points, including two late three-pointers, as the Denver Nuggets beat the San Antonio Spurs 114-105 in Game 2 to level their first-round playoff series at 1-1.

Murray missed his first eight shots of the game but got hot with the game on the line.

He hit five consecutive shots in the fourth quarter, including a fadeaway jumper, a step-back for two and a pair of free throws that gave Denver a 99-97 lead, their first since the first quarter.

After Spurs guard DeMar DeRozan tied the game, Murray hit another shot and then a free throw off a technical on San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich to give the Nuggets a 102-99 lead with 3:41 left.

The Nuggets held a three-point advantage going into the final three minutes before the red-hot Murray stepped up again to seal the win.

With the shot clock running down, Murray raced around a Nikola Jokic screen to collect the ball and launch a towering three-pointer as the buzzer sounded to extend Denver's lead to six with 2:31 remaining.

After a Spurs miss, Murray was on target from downtown again, pulling up at the three-point line to nail another clutch triple that extended the Nuggets' lead to nine and restored parity in the series.
