The Lakers announced on Saturday that Ingram has deep venous thrombosis in his right arm, while Ball is struggling to recover from a left ankle injury suffered in January.

Third-year wing Ingram had missed the last two games due to shoulder soreness before further testing revealed the new diagnosis.

Ingram is averaging 18.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 33.8 minutes per game in 52 games this season.

Soon after the Lakers confirmed Ingram's injury, reports emerged that fellow number-two draft pick Ball had also been shut down for the remainder of the season after having his injured left ankle re-evaluated.

The 21-year-old has missed the team's last 18 games as a result of the injury. Ball has averaged 9.9 points, 5.4 assists and 5.3 rebounds in 47 games (45 starts) this season. Unlike Ingram, the Lakers have not confirmed Ball's status.

The Lakers lost to the Boston Celtics on Saturday night to fall to 30-36 with 16 games remaining in the regular season.
