Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson produced ultra-efficient shooting performances to lead the Golden State Warriors to a resounding 141-102 win over the San Antonio Spurs.
Durant scored 23 points of 9-of-13 shooting (69.2 per cent), including 3-of-4 from three-point range. He also found time in his 29 minutes to record team highs with eight rebounds and nine assists.
Thompson was even better, draining 11 of his 13 shots (84.6 per cent), including 4-of-5 from downtown, en route to a game-high 26.
Powered by Durant and Thompson's unconscious shooting, the Warriors made 24-of-25 shots bridging the second and third quarters, breaking open a close game that ended as a 141-102 shellacking.
The Warriors led just 49-45 late in the second period before finishing the half 7-for-7, extending the advantage to 66-52 at half-time.
The two-time defending champs then made their first seven shots of the second half, a flurry they extended to 17-of-18 while turning the contest into a blowout.
