James Harden extended his 30-plus point scoring streak to 27 games with a 44-point performance in the Houston Rockets' 118-110 win over the Phoenix Suns.
Harden connected on 15 of his 26 field goal attempts, including 5-of-13 from three-point range. He also posted eight rebounds, six assists and three steals and made nine of his 11 free throws.
Harden opened his account with a trademark drive to the basket and finish at the rim, drawing a foul in the process for a three-point play. He would score 12 points in the first period and added 10 more in the second quarter.
The Rockets star found his range from three-point land in the second half, going to his patented step-back move to connect from downtown. He also caught the Suns defense sleeping with a full-court pass to set up a Kenneth Faried dunk before mesmerizing three Suns off the dribble, drawing another foul and spinning home a scoop shot high off the glass.
Harden's 30-plus-point-scoring streak is now the third longest in NBA history, behind two by Wilt Chamberlain.
