Joel Embiid punctuated a dominant 32-point display with a highlight defensive play as he chased down James Harden and rejected the Rockets' star's lay-up at the rim.
Embiid's 39th double-double of the season led the Sixers to an emphatic 121-93 win but it was defensive skills of the 'The Process' that produced the game's most memorable moment.
With 13.6 seconds left in the second quarter, Rockets defender James Ennis deflected a Sixers pass into the path of team-mate PJ Tucker. The ball was then shifted to Harden who drove down the court for what looked like a certain fast-break lay-up.
Harden Euro-stepped around Sixers defender Corey Brewer in the lane and rose to lay the ball home, but with the basket at his mercy Embiid, who had chased the length of the court, appeared from nowhere to pin his shot to the backboard and deny 'The Beard' at the final moment.
