Richie Porte will join the BMC Racing Team on a one-year deal after deciding to end his association with Team Sky.

The 30-year-old Australian, who played in his part in helping Sky win three Tour de France titles, will link-up with the US registered team for the 2016 season.

Porte helped Bradley Wiggins win the Tour in 2012 and worked as a domestique for Chris Froome as the British rider claimed victory in 2013 and 2015.

"I want to win again races like Paris-Nice and the Tour of Catalonia," Porte said.

"Next year, why not have a Tejay van Garderen (also of BMC  Racing) and myself at the Tour de France, we get on well."
