Britain’s UFC champion Michael Bisping has promised to smash Dan Henderson "to bits" after confirming their Manchester fight.

The Lancashire fighter will return home to put his middleweight championship on the line on October 8 at UFC 204 against Henderson in an attempt to avenge his most damaging career defeat.

Henderson, now the organisation's oldest active competitor at 45, knocked Bisping out with one punch seven years ago and is expected to retire after their upcoming rematch.

I'm going to smash him to bits and the guy will never think about walking into an Octagon again.

"I plan on putting a beating on Henderson that people won't forget in a long, long time," Bisping told his SiriusXM radio show. "Dan Henderson knocked me out at UFC 100. I owe that guy big-time.

"The guy just knocked out Hector Lombard, who hasn't been knocked out ever, so he's still very, very dangerous.
