Nate Diaz has appeared to suggest his rematch against Conor McGregor is postponed after claiming he is going on “vacation”.
The latest development in McGregor's stand-off with the UFC has seen his scheduled opponent Diaz drop the biggest hint yet that they won't fight as planned on July 9.
"Happy to announce that I'm going on vacation," Diaz tweeted on Monday night having previously claimed at Friday's press conference that he wouldn't fight anybody except McGregor.
The Irishman, who lost his original bout against Diaz in March, plunged their rematch at UFC 200 into doubt over a dispute about media obligations. His refusal to take part in a Las Vegas press conference last week saw the UFC officially withdraw McGregor from their showpiece event.
McGregor then tweeted "happy to announce that I am back on UFC 200" but this claim was quickly quashed by the organisation's president.
Dana White told the LA Times: "We haven't talked (to) Conor or his manager since the press conference. I don't know why he would tweet that."
Currently, McGregor remains officially off the UFC 200 card but Diaz's position has yet to be clarified.
