Sergio Garcia delighted golf fans in the Big Apple as the new Masters champion enjoyed a tour of New York City while proudly showing off his new Green Jacket.
The Spaniard finally made his major breakthrough after years of near-misses when he edged out England's Justin Rose on the first play-off hole at Augusta National after a dramatic Sunday shoot-out.
Garcia, who was appearing in his 74th major championship, has been lapping up the many media commitments that come with being a Masters champion, and he followed the lead of several previous winners by visiting the famous sites including the New York Stock Exchange and the Empire State Building.
The 37-year-old, who has announced he will be taking a four-week break from golf and is not likely to feature again until the Players Championship, also earned many plaudits from his peers ahead of this week's RBC Heritage.
Long-time friend Luke Donald led the tributes to his Ryder Cup team-mate, while Ian Poulter, Rafa Cabrera Bello, Graeme McDowell and Ernie Els also expressed their admiration for his win at Augusta.
Els, in particular, was delighted to see Garcia make his long-awaited breakthrough, claiming it "would have been a crime" if Garcia had ended his career without a major title.
