The PGA Tour has seen plenty of incredible finishes to tournaments through the years, although few can match the drama witnessed during the final round of the BMW Championship.
After a tough-scoring week at Olympia Fields Country Club for the second of three FedExCup play-offs, Jon Rahm and Dustin Johnson lived up to their status as the world's top two players by producing an unforgettable finish in Illinois.
Rahm had gone into the final day three strokes off the pace but fired a round-of-the-week 64 to jump up the leaderboard and set the clubhouse target at four under, with Johnson a shot off the pace as he made his way to the par-four last.
Johnson found the green in two before holing a remarkable birdie to force the contest into extra holes, seeing his double-breaking, downhill 45-footer find the centre of the cup
Better was to come at the first extra play-off hole, where Rahm had found the back of the putting surface and left himself a seemingly difficult two-putt, only to judge his 66-foot effort perfectly to deliver the unlikeliest of birdies.
Johnson was then unable to make another long-range birdie to extend the play-off, giving Rahm his second victory in five starts and ensuring the pair will occupy the top two in the FedExCup standings for the season-ending Tour Championship?
