Justin Rose overturned a two-shot deficit on the back nine to secure a narrow one-shot win over Lucas Bjerregaard at the Hong Kong Open.
The pair went into the final round tied for the lead and with a four-stroke advantage over the chasing pack, but it was the Englishman that took the title following a two-under 68 In Fanling.
Rose edged in front with a birdie on the second, but Bjerregaard immediately hit back with birdies at the next two holes to move into a lead which he held until three-putting the eighth.
The Dane also looked in trouble on the ninth after his tee shot left him blocked out by the trees, but he produced a brilliant approach to 10 feet and holed for an unlikely birdie as Rose posted a three-putt bogey.
Bjerregaard's two-shot advantage was halved as Rose drove the par-four tenth green and carded a birdie three, before a wild drive into the trees at the next saw the 24-year-old slip back in to a share of the lead.
A 30-foot birdie at the 12th moved Bjerregaard back top of the leaderboard, with the pair exchanging gains at the following hole as the Dane was fortunate to see his drive ricochet of a tree and bounce back in to play.
With Bjerregaard losing ground with a three-putt double-bogey at the 14th after pulling his tee shot into trees, Rose took advantage with a tap-in gain and doubled his lead with a 12-foot birdie at the 16th.
After the pair both made par at the 17th and Bjerregaard finished with another at the last, Rose could afford to leave his seven-foot par save short and still nudge in a three-putt bogey to claim his eighth European Tour title.
"It was fun to battle with Justin these last two days," Bjerregaard said. "It's guys like him that I want to go out and compete against, and at least I gave him a little bit of a scare.
"That double-bogey on 14 really ruined it for me but all in all, happy the way I've played and how I played this weekend especially.
"The last time I was out in the final group on a Sunday, I shot 89. So 20 shots better today, I'll take that."
British Masters champion Matt Fitzpatrick bogeyed three of his final four holes but was still able to finish in a tie for third alongside Patrick Reed, Australia's Jason Scrivener and Korea's Lee Soomin, with Anirban Lahiri and Matt Ford part of the group a further stroke back.
A back nine 31 from Ben Evans helped the Englishman to a joint-lowest round-of-the day 65 as Ian Poulter, a late-entry in to this week's field after falling out of the world's top 50, closed a hectic week with a one-under 69.
