After Rickie Fowler's one-shot victory over Henrik Stenson at the Deutsche Bank Championship on Monday, the FedExCup field was whittled down from 100 to 70.
Those 70 players will contest the BMW Championship in September for a place at the TOUR Championship, where one of the 30 remaining players will be determined as the FedExCup winner.
But just who has made the cut at the end-of-season event?
Who's in?
Jason Day tops the rankings with an American-dominated top 15 including Jordan Spieth, Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson and Fowler all expecting to be in contention at the TOUR Championship in September, while Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy also sit pretty inside the top 30.
Despite his narrow loss at the Deutsche Bank Championship, 2013 FedExCup champion Stenson lies third in the rankings, but Paul Casey will be looking nervously over his shoulder having dropped three places to 24th.
The player currently occupying the 30th and final spot is 2010 Open Championship winner Louis Oosthuizen, after the South African tied-12th in Boston with a final round 71 to rise eight places in the rankings.
Hunter Mahan, the only player to play in every FedExCup event, ensured he would appear at the BMW Championship after a closing round of 70 lifted the 33-year-old to 52nd.
There were four players who moved into the top 70, including 2011 PGA Championship winner Keegan Bradley, William McGirt and Mahan, while Jerry Kelly secured his place in dramatic style with a birdie on 18 at Deutsche Bank.
Who has work to do?
With such a restricted field at the TOUR Championship, many high-profile names are likely to miss out upon the conclusion of the BMW Championship.
Despite making an impression on his debut at the majors this year with a tied-14 finish at the US Open and a tied-10th finish at Whistling Straits in August, Tony Finau has some ground to make up after dropping nine places to 41 in the rankings.
Having not featured since the PGA Championship, Sergio Garcia has fallen outside of the top 50, but is still ahead of five-time major winner Phil Mickelson, who has failed to finish higher than 50th in four of his previous six events.
Ian Poulter has risen three places in the FedExCup rankings, but at 66th the 39-year-old has it all to do if he is to qualify for the TOUR Championship.
Missed cuts at the Wyndham Championship and The Barclays followed by a lowly six-over finish at the Deutsche Bank has put Billy Horschel's participation at the 30-man event in doubt - the 2014 FedExCup winner is currently 67th in the rankings.
Notable omissions
Former world No 1 Luke Donald will not feature at the third FedExCup event at Conway Farms, where he is a member, after dropping three shots in four holes around the turn in Boston on Monday.
Marc Leishman, a runner-up at The Open, also misses out after falling from 70 to 76 after a five-over par finish at the Deutsche Bank.
However, there were fewer major omissions than after the first week of the FedExCup play-offs with Adam Scott, Lee Westwood and Padraig Harrington among the early casualties.
