Rory McIlroy remains in the hunt heading into the weekend at The 146th Open, where the world No 4 is well-placed to challenge for a fifth major title.
The Northern Irishman posted a two-under 68 in strong winds at Royal Birkdale on Friday to get within five strokes of midway leader Jordan Spieth.
McIlroy has struggled for form during an injury-affected first half of 2017 and came into the third major of the week off the back of three missed cuts in four starts, but now is back in major contention.
Could McIlroy lift the Claret Jug this week and claim a first major success since 2014? Here's a look back at McIlroy's four major successes…
2011 US Open
Two months on from his final-round collapse at the Masters, McIlroy took advantage of the soft greens in Maryland to card a bogey-free 65 and grab a three-shot lead after the opening day.
McIlroy's fine form continued in the second round, where he posted a front-nine 32 and followed it with three birdies in a four-hole stretch from the 14th to get to 13 under.
A closing double-bogey, his first blemish of the week, still didn't prevent McIlroy from claiming the lowest 36-hole total in US Open history and taking a six-shot lead into the weekend.
The Northern Irishman extended his lead to eight strokes with a third-round 68, which turned out to be the winning margin over nearest challenger Jason Day after a closing 69 on Sunday.
2012 PGA Championship
McIlroy fired a five-under 67 during the opening round at Kiawah Island to stay in touch with early pacesetter Carl Pettersson, before remaining in contention despite strong winds in the second round.
A three-over 75 saw McIlroy head into the weekend two adrift of a three-way tie for the lead, with the Northern Irishman moving up the leaderboard with five birdies on the front nine on Saturday.
Thunderstorms saw the round finished on Sunday morning, where McIlroy posted another 67 to pull three clear of the chasing pack.
Three birdies in McIlroy's first seven holes of the final round extended his advantage, with a closing gain completing a bogey-free 66 and victory by eight strokes.
2014 Open Championship
A bogey-free 66 helped McIlroy to the opening-round lead at Royal Liverpool, before shooting another round of five under on Friday to take a four-shot advantage into the weekend.
Rickie Fowler briefly moved alongside McIlroy after a birdie-filled start to his third round, brought forward because of the threat of lightning, only for the Northern Irishman to eagle two of his final three holes.
That fast finish extended McIlroy's increased cushion to six strokes heading into the final day, where a one-under 71 was enough to finish two clear of Fowler and Sergio Garcia.
2014 PGA Championship
Chasing a third consecutive victory worldwide and having recently returned as world No 1, McIlroy got himself within one of the lead following an opening-round 66 at Valhalla.
Two birdies over the final three holes in his second round saw McIlroy edge one ahead of Day at the top of the leaderboard, before a fast finish on Saturday kept him one clear of Bernd Wiesberger.
McIlroy lost ground with two bogeys over the first six holes of his opening round but bounced back with a birdie at the seventh and eagle-three at the 10th.
Further birdies at the 13th and 17th saw McIlroy sneak ahead as he made his way to the last, where a closing par in near-darkness was enough for a one-shot triumph over Phil Mickelson.
