Chris Wood is back at Wentworth this week, a year from his career-changing victory at the BMW PGA Championship.
The Bristolian sat seven strokes off the pace following an opening-round 72 and went into the weekend eight shots off the midway lead after a two-under 70 on Friday.
Wood posted a four-under 68 the following day to head into Sunday within three of leader Scott Hend, before surging up the leaderboard during an eventful final round.
A birdie at the first was followed by an eagle-three at the fourth and further gains on three of the next five holes, seeing Wood reach the turn in 29 and with a four-stroke cushion.
That advantage was significantly reduced over the closing stretch, with three bogeys in four holes from the 14th cutting his cushion over Rikard Karlberg to just one shot as he went to the last.
Wood then made a par at the last to close a three-under 69, which was enough secure him a third European Tour title.
