Kevin Streelman discards his shoes and socks and wades into a lake to get his ball back onto dry land at Bay Hill, defying the threat of alligators!

Kevin Streelman may not have been aware of what happened to Cody Gribble at Bay Hill last year as he made a daring escape from the water.

Streelman pulled his drive on the long sixth hole into the hazard during his second round of the Arnold Palmer Invitational, but he decided he could get his ball back into play without the need for a penalty drop.

The American removed his shoes and socks and waded into the lake, but little did he know he was in almost the exact spot where Gribble encountered one of the local reptilian inhabitants 12 months ago.

Cody Gribble decides to usher an alligator back into the water at the Arnold Palmer Invitational ... by tapping it on the tail

Gribble caused a stir when he approached an alligator that was perched on the edge of the fairway and tapped it on the tail to usher it back into the water - an incident which caused a few sleepless nights for commentator Ewen Murray.

But Streelman was undisturbed and managed to splash his half-submerged ball over 100 yards up the fairway, from where he was able to escape with an adventurous par.
