Watch Tiger Woods' first competitive shot since February as he made his latest return to action at the Hero World Challenge

Tiger Woods ended his 300-day absence from competitive golf as he made his latest return to action at the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.

Nearly 11 months on from withdrawing mid-tournament at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, Woods' last competitive start, the former world No 1 was back on the tee as he played alongside Justin Thomas at the Albany Golf Club.

Woods told reporters ahead of the 18-man tournament that he felt in "fantastic shape" with huge anticipation and interest from the golfing world to see whether the now world No 1,199 can still compete at the highest level.

The 14-time major champion ripped his opening drive just over 300 yards - further than his playing partner - and saw his ball bounce out of a bunker to nestle on to the left side of the fairway.
