Fleetwood finished in a share of 20th place at Sheshan International, pocketing €76,104 and increasing his lead over Sergio Garcia - who didn't feature - in the race to end the year as European No 1.

Garcia stays in second spot and is just over 865,000 points adrift with three events of the season remaining, while Rose is up seven places in to third after claiming a stunning-two shot win Shanghai.

The Englishman overturned a eight-stroke deficit on the final day to secure a first victory since last year's Olympics, boosting his hopes of topping the money list for the first time since 2007.

"It kind of gives me a realistic chance now, if I was to have a special end to the season with Turkey and Dubai," Rose said after winning his 10th European Tour title.

Rose is up to 2,993,754 points, with Jon Rahm occupying fourth spot after ending tied-36th and Tyrrell Hatton - a two-time winner in 2017 - remains in fifth position.

Ross Fisher has dropped two places to sixth in the standings after a disappointing week in China, while Rafa Cabrera Bello, Alex Noren, Francesco Molinari and Rory McIlroy complete the top 10.
