World No 1 Dustin Johnson has warned his PGA Championship rivals that he is close to the form which saw him dominate the game.
Johnson won three tournaments in succession earlier this season - including back-to-back World Golf Championship events - before a back injury suffered in a fall at his rental house in Augusta forced him to withdraw from the Masters.
On his return to action, Johnson finished second, 12th and 13th on the PGA Tour before missing the cut in the Memorial Tournament and US Open, while he was 54th in the Open at Royal Birkdale after weekend rounds of 64 and 77.
Asked to give his game a score out of 10 when he returned, Johnson said: "Three. It wasn't that good, but then it went down and got worse after that.
"But I feel like I'm about an eight and a half right now. "Obviously it was really frustrating (to get injured). But things happen.
"You've just got to deal with them and I feel like the golf game's in really good shape right now.
"I played really good on Sunday (shooting 66 in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational). I feel like I'm driving it really well again. I feel like it's really close to being back to how good it was before the Masters."
