Iconic Masters images, two days to go: Tiger Woods' chip-in from 2005

By Sky Sports Golf

Is this moment of magic from 2005 the most famous chip-in for birdie in Masters history?

It’s the penultimate day in our iconic Augusta images countdown, today we have a cracker from Tiger Woods’s 2005 triumph.

Woods secured his fourth Green Jacket with victory over Chris DiMarco at the first extra play-off hole, although the tournament will always be remember for a remarkable chip-in at the 16th.

The-then world No 1 had taken a three-shot lead in to the final round but saw his advantage cut to one when DiMarco posted back-to-back birdies from the 14th.

Drama was to follow at the par-three next, where Woods' tee shot ended up in the rough below the green and still some 50-feet from the pin.

From there, Woods produced a moment of genius to pitch his ball more than 20 feet left of the hole and watch it race down the slope towards the flag.

The ball appeared to be stopping agonisingly shot when it slowed up on the lip of the cup, only to drop in to see Woods celebrate the most unlikely of birdies.
