Jordan Spieth showed his creative talents with back-to-back chip-ins during the second round

Jordan Spieth produced a short game masterclass with a moment of brilliance during the second round of the WGC-Mexico Championship.

The two-time major champion posted a level-par 71 on Thursday and made a slow start to the second round with a wayward tee shot and double bogey at the 11th - his second hole.

Spieth responded in style by holing a 15-footer for birdie at the 14th, before delivering a couple of shot of the day contenders over the next two holes.

The 23-year-old's impeccable short game was highlighted at the par-five 15th, where Spieth found the rough just off the green with his second shot but then holed out for an unlikely eagle.

Spieth's best was to follow at the next, where he used his imagine and the slope of the green to perfectly execute a remarkable chip-in birdie.
