Jordan Spieth and Smylie Kaufman fall into Pacific Ocean at Sony Open

Jordan Spieth & Smylie Kaufman's fishing expedition at the Sony Open finished in failure!

Jordan Spieth and Smylie Kaufman got themselves into bother during a fishing trip after the opening round of the Sony Open.

Spieth posted an opening-round 65 and Kaufman shot a one-under 69 in Hawaii, where Justin Thomas fired a round of 59 to open up a three-shot lead, before the pair went to try out a less-familiar hobby.

Kaufman admitted to reporters he was an ‘awful fisherman’ as the duo sat on the beach, but it didn’t stop him from taking a rod in the water as they braved the waves in a canoe.

It was little surprise that the two golfers didn’t stay dry for long, as they both comically overturned and were dumped in to the ocean.
