Last chance for players to qualify for The Open at the Scottish Open

Our Sky Sports The Open channel launches on July 11th with live coverage of the 145th Open at Royal Troon

The Scottish Open provides one last chance for players to secure one of the remaining qualifying places for next week’s 145th Open, live on Sky Sports.

152 players have secured their spot for golf's oldest major, with the four remaining places going to the leading four players - not exempt - who finish in the top 12 and ties in Scotland this week.

Brandon Stone, Alex Noren, Callum Shinkwin and Richard Sterne took the four places available at last week's 100th Open de France, while Greg Chalmers earned his exemption by winning the Barracuda Championship.

Only 50 of the field at Castle Stuart this week - the final event in The Open Qualifying Series - are currently in the Troon line-up, with the other 106 players having one last chance to chase the remaining spots. Here's a look at the some of those yet to qualify…

Zurich Classic of New Orleans runner-up Jamie Lovemark is the highest-ranked player in Scotland this week yet to have his involvement at the Open confirmed, although he could still feature even without a top-12 finish in the Highlands.

Following Jaco van Zyl's withdrawal and Luke Donald's promotion to the field, the American now sits behind compatriots Daniel Summerhays and Charles Howell III on the reserve list.

Miracle of Medinah winner Nicolas Colsaerts has already posted three top-10s this season but has not competed for the Claret Jug since a missed cut in 2013 while former Ryder Cup captain and Sky Sports pundit Paul McGinley looks to reach his first Open in seven years.

Ryder Cup vice-captain Thomas Bjorn has posted five top-10s and finished runner-up in 2000 and 2003, but requires a big week in Inverness to reach the Open field for the seventh year running.

This year marks two decades since the Dane won his first of 15 European Tour titles in this event, claiming a narrow victory over Jean van der Welde, while 2010 Scottish Open champion Edoardo Molinari and 2012 winner Jeev Milkha Singh are also in action this week and not yet in the Troon line-up.

Four-time European Tour winner Matteo Manassero's three-year exemption for winning the 2013 BMW PGA Championship has ended, meaning the Italian needs to replicate his tied-12th finish at the Nordea Masters earlier in the season to have a chance of qualifying.

Gregory Bourdy, currently 20th in the Race to Dubai standings, is in the field off the back of encouraging performances at the Lyoness Open and US Open in recent weeks, with French compatriot Alexander Levy chasing a first major appearance of the season.

After narrowly missing out on an Open spot last year, where he finished tied-10th at Gullane but lost out to Rikard Karlberg because of having a lower world ranking, 2009 PGA Champion YE Yang is back in Scotland to try to qualify again this week.

Tyrrell Hatton, who has missed the cut in his previous four Open starts, leads the English hopefuls not yet in the third major of the year, with Eddie Pepperell and Lee Slattery also in the hunt.

Irish Open joint runner-up Bradley Dredge and former European No 1 Robert Karlsson are also playing this week and chasing those final places, as is Pablo Larrazabal, who has already finished inside the top 12 at Wentworth and Munich in his past four starts.
